With each scan or inspection, we produce individualized reports that include :

  • Analysis of all collected data and for each anomaly

  • Schematics of the roof or building, pinpointing issues and anomalies

  • Images of each anomaly : visible light pictures and thermal images [both greyscale and colorized]

  • Comparison images of healthy areas of the roof/masonry/etc.

  • Detailed notes on the building condition [deterioration, potential hazards, etc.]

  • Findings from additional ordered tests [test cuts, core samples, electronic moisture metering]

The report is formatted and written to be understandable to anyone, but actionable to the specialists. They are designed to make your next course of action immediately clear by providing more attentive analysis than can be found anywhere else.

Reports are delivered within two weeks after completion of each inspection or test. If a project must fit within a narrow timetable, delivery can always be expedited.

O que é Formula SAE?

A Fórmula SAE é a competição de que participamos regularmente, na categoria elétrico. Organizada pela Sociedade de Engenheiros Automotivos (SAE, em inglês), ela conta apenas com equipes de fórmula estudantil, e os nomes de suas edições variam de país para país: Fórmula SAE Brasil, Formula Student no Reino Unido e FSG na Alemanha, por exemplo.

Flat Roof Moisture Survey

Infrared moisture surveys reveal issues such as areas of water permeation, potential structural damage, and missing insulation. Pinpointing leaks avoids overestimation of cost or inaccurate repairs while diminishing time and work. Revealing and then solving these problems also minimizes energy loss from buildings and prevents structural damage from growing. Overall, these surveys save thousands of dollars per property where the industry loses billions each year.

It is advisable to have a roof scanned before repair work, being bought, sold, leased, insured, or to enforce warranties.

The process includes images of each anomaly, the marking of all moisture with paint on the roof, and redundant thermal images of the roof from beneath when possible to assure accuracy, plus all analysis inherent to the report.

Scans must be conducted at a time when sunlight cannot obfuscate the thermal image, usually at night or in heavy cloud cover, as well as when neither snow nor rain water is present on the roof. Scans can be completed year-round. Winter scans require more sunlight through the day or for the building interior to be heated.

While not all thermographers choose to scan every type of roof system, Spectrum IR has developed the knowledge and practices that make traditionally difficult or impossible scans equally accurate to others. These roof systems include aluminum coated built up, ballasted, and standing seam or other metal roofs. Metal roofs must be insulated.

Masonry / Wall Scan

Similar to the roof moisture survey, scans of masonry and walls detect latent moisture in the building. Left unchecked, these issues lead to leaks, structural deterioration, and energy loss.

Focusing on exact problem areas makes repointing, resealing, or other repairs highly surgical and avoids cost overruns and unnecessary expenses.

Like roof surveys, direct sunlight and rain obfuscate the thermal image, so masonry/wall scans are weather dependent. However, the can be completed during the day if in the shade or indirect light.


Electrical Equipment Scan

When electrical components or connections are improperly wired, poorly grounded, deteriorated, or failing for any other reason, the increased electrical resistance causes excess heat. Thermal scans can pick out exactly where these problems are and prevent severe failures that can damage equipment, electrical outages, and cause serious down-time.

Other mechanical and industrial equipment can be surveyed for similar failures.

Building Envelope / Energy Audit

A leading cause of excess carbon emission as well as property expense is energy loss. Faulty windows, poor sealing, missing/insufficient insulation, and water damage can all lead to hundreds or thousands of dollars in wasted heating/cooling costs.

Focused or general scans of the building envelope find exactly where energy loss is occurring. Simple but targeted improvements, such as replacing window panes or adding insulation, save money and help preserve the environment as well.

Energy audits require structural details to estimate excess energy costs.


Refrigerated Units / Buildings

Thermography is easily applied to caring for refrigerated units and buildings.

Walk-in freezers at a hotel or refrigerated warehouses storing medical supplies can be expensive to run if leaking cold air, or in severe cases have their contents spoil.

Like with building envelope scans, these surveys illuminate where there are gaps, missing insulation, and other causes of climate-control failures.
